Spy Hunter Review

Spy Hunter Review

It’s a solid reinterpretation of a video game classic that adds its own unique elements to the franchise without forsaking what made Spy Hunter what it was.

Classic Game Room – SPY HUNTER review for Atari 2600

Spy Hunter review. http://www.ClassicGameRoom.com
Classic Game Room reviews SPY HUNTER for Atari 2600 from Bally Midway and Sega released in 1984.

Game Room was the FIRST classic video game review show on the Internet in 1999. Returning in 2008 with new episodes, Classic Game Room breaks out a review of the arcade smash hit SPY HUNTER, now made into a commercial by GM and Pontiac that we call the “Pontiac Spy Hunter Commercial” paying tribute to the Mach 5 style of the Spy Hunter-mobile. Spy Hunter is retro video gaming at its finest, but does the Atari version live up to the coin-op machine in the arcades? You drive a James Bond kind of a car with machine guns and oil slick and blow up enemy bad guys on the road and on the seas… or rivers. Sort of like the scene in Live in Let Die where Roger Moore drives a speedboat through the everglades or something… Maybe the new James Bond movie will be called Spyhunter and he’ll drive the Mach 5 and the next Bond girl will be Trixie from Speed Racer.

Be sure to watch the original Classic Game Room episodes. Classic Game Room was the original classic video game review show on the Internet in 1999-2000, now on DVD. Wii, PS3, Xbox 360.

CGRundertow SPY HUNTER for Nintendo 3DS Video Game Review

Spy Hunter video review. Classic Game Room presents a CGRundertow video review of Spy Hunter from TT Fusion and Warner Bros. Interactive for the Nintendo 3DS. This new Spy Hunter is a modernized reboot of the arcade classic. You take on missions in which you drive around a freaking Batmobile, blowing up enemies and trying to keep from killing innocent drivers. But the problem isn’t shooting stuff from your car…it’s driving it. The controls are really bad, and worse yet, the missions just aren’t any fun. This video review features video gameplay footage of Spy Hunter for the Nintendo 3DS and audio commentary from Classic Game Room’s Derek.

Spyhunter (2001), a Reboot Done Right

A bombastic arcade driving game rebooted back in 2001, seemingly forgotten by much of the internet. Inspired by cheesy spy movie action, Spyhunter has a fond place in my childhood.
